Arab Planning Institute and Regional Network ink MoU, boost cooperation

Kuwait: The Arab Planning Institute and the Regional Network for Social Responsibility on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost Arab cooperation and support development efforts in Arab countries regarding social responsibility and related matters. In a statement to KUNA, director of the institute Dr Bader Malallah said that this MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the two institutes, given the importance of these issues in the private and public sectors.

Malallah added that the Regional Network for Social Responsibility plays a major role in spreading the culture of social responsibility at the level of Arab countries. He explained that this memorandum came to enhance continuous effective cooperation in the areas of capacity building, training, consultancy, studies, technical support, research, forums and development activities, and cooperation in the field of enabling public and private sector institutions to perform their role in social responsibility.

Chairman of the Regional Network Youssef Abdulghaffar told KUNA that this agreement is a professional and scientific strategic partnership that will extend its impact to Arab countries. The two sides share common interest of providing specialized professional consultations, scientific research and the initiatives of the two institutes in the development of societies, added Abdulghaffar.

The Kuwait-based Arab Planning Institute is an independent, non-profit Arab development institution, established in 1972, with the aim of supporting development efforts in Arab countries by contributing to building national human capacities and enhancing institutional performance. The Regional Network for Social Responsibility, founded in 2007, is an international non-profit professional organization with branches, offices and agreements in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and other countries. The network aims to raise awareness about the social responsibility of companies and institutes and work to strengthen it in the public and private sectors.
