Municipal Council approves spring camps regulations
Kuwait:
The Municipal Council approved, in
its main session on Monday, headed by Chairman Abdullah Al-Mahri, the spring
camps bylaw, which consists of 23 articles and allows the establishment of camps
for individuals, cooperative societies, civil clubs, and public benefit
societies. Council member Fahad Al-Abduljader said in a speech during the
session that the bylaw opened a new window for small and medium enterprises,
addressed the legislative shortcomings that existed, and will put work within
its proper framework.
Al-Abduljader added that the bylaw will enable them to benefit from the spring
camping season and achieve economic returns when it is implemented, noting that
any entrepreneur can apply for a place to sell his products in the desert. He
explained that the bylaw is diverse, calling for expediting its implementation
for the current camping season, which starts next Friday, November 15.
He added that the Municipal Council approved the objection of Minister of State
for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif
Al-Mishari to the second item of the Municipal Council’s decision in its last
session on the request of Kuwait Municipality. He pointed out that the Minister
expressed in the approval letter sent to the Chairman of the Municipal Council
his objection to the allocation of the project due to the violation of one of
the articles of the special resolution in the powers assigned to the
Municipality in accordance with the provisions of Law No 33 of 2016.
