New guides to improve mental health in schools
Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Mental Health
Promotion released two guides to strengthen mental health support in schools: A
specialized magazine and a manual addressing psychological challenges.
The center said the resources aim to raise
awareness and provide educators with tools to handle complex issues, the Saudi
Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
They include practical counseling methods and
clear referral protocols for students needing specialist care, the SPA added.
The magazine is an educational resource that
explores the link between mental wellness, academic performance and social
development.
The manual offers educators and school counselors
evidence-based frameworks, including preventive measures and therapeutic
interventions at different levels.
Officials said both publications follow World
Health Organization and UNICEF standards and support Vision 2030’s goal of safe
and healthy learning environments.
The initiative also includes training programs and
workshops in partnership with the Ministry of Education, according to the SPA
report.
