billion in 2023
Kuwait:
Zain announced it has signed
a memorandum of understanding with global partner Samsung at the Mobile World
Congress (MWC 2024) in Barcelona, Spain. The agreement explores future joint
collaboration and new opportunities to expand on Zain and Samsung’s long-term
partnership to bring the best tech innovations to consumers and businesses in
the Kuwaiti market.
The signing ceremony was attended by Zain Kuwait Acting CEO Nawaf Algharabally,
Samsung Gulf President Doohee Lee, Zain Group Chief Investment and Digital
Transformation Officer Malek Hammoud, Zain Kuwait CCO Meshal Al-Kandari, Zain
Kuwait Chief Enterprise & Business Officer Hamad Al-Marzouq, Samsung Gulf Senior
Sales Director Fadi Abu Shamat, and executives from the two partners.
The MoU explores future collaboration opportunities between Zain and Samsung to
grow their existing, long-term partnership that has seen numerous operational
and commercial successes throughout the past years. The agreement also sets
pillars for the two companies to join forces and expand their efforts to bring
the best services, solutions, and innovations to the local market. This springs
from Zain and Samsung’s joint vision to leverage on innovation to achieve
sustainable growth in both consumer and business sectors.
In a recent success of this partnership, Zain hosted a special event to
celebrate the launch of the all-new Samsung Galaxy S24 series. The event was
attended by executive management teams from both companies, along with Zain’s
dedicated customers, Samsung enthusiasts, and content creators from the local
tech community. Users got to experience the new devices up-close prior to their
official launch and learned more about the lineup’s top innovations and best
AI-powered features.
The exclusive event offered an opportunity to experience the all-new lineup,
which included the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24.
Guests were introduced to revolutionary features from the three AI-powered
devices. In another achievement, Zain became in 2022 the first operator globally
to commercially launch voice over 5G (Vo5G) with nationwide coverage on the
Samsung Galaxy S series, bringing crystal-clear voice calls over 5G on the
nation’s biggest network. The step reaffirmed the leadership position Zain’s
award-winning network holds as the first and best choice for a seamless digital
experience.
Zain maintains its leadership position within the local ICT industry through its
robust ecosystem of strategic partnerships with the world’s biggest technology
leaders. Building upon early investment in cutting-edge technology
infrastructure and harnessing the talent of its national workforce, the company
remains at the forefront of innovation, consistently delivering groundbreaking
technologies to Kuwait’s largest customer base.
