Kuwait, UAE boost bilateral ties

Kuwait: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya on Monday, where the Kuwaiti diplomat conveyed greetings from HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Emirati president and the brotherly Emirati people for more progress and prosperity. Sheikh Mohamed extended similar greetings to HH the Amir and the Kuwaiti people. The two discussed deep-seated fraternal ties, cooperation within the GCC framework and regional and international developments.

As part of his official visit, Yahya inaugurated Kuwait’s new embassy in Abu Dhabi, alongside UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed. The visit also featured the fifth session of the Kuwaiti-Emirati Joint Higher Committee, where both countries signed several memoranda of understanding and executive programs in areas such as standardization, infrastructure, IT, education, sports, culture, cybersecurity and defense industries.

Kuwait’s Ambassador to the UAE Jamal Al-Ghunaim praised the inauguration of the new embassy as a symbol of the enduring brotherly relations and a commitment to enhancing cooperation, particularly in investment, economic and cultural fields. On Tuesday, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah headed to the UAE on an official visit.
