SACGC, UC Berkeley sign deal to support Kuwaiti innovators

Kuwait’s Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for
Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) and the University of California, Berkeley
have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote international collaboration
and support innovation and creativity, benefiting Kuwaiti innovators. In a
statement to KUNA on Saturday, Neda Al-Dehani, Director-General of SACGC,
explained that the agreement with UC Berkeley – one of the world’s most
prestigious universities, renowned for its initiatives in innovation and
artificial intelligence – is part of the center’s ongoing efforts to strengthen
Kuwait’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Al-Dehani further emphasized that the agreement includes collaboration with
Berkeley’s AMENA Center for Entrepreneurship and Development, focusing on
designing and developing joint initiatives and programs to support talented
innovators. The MoU also targets priority sectors such as digital
transformation, education, and energy, in addition to providing workshops and
training programs that will enhance the skills of innovators.
The AMENA Center, which manages programs focused on sustainable development and
digital transformation in the Middle East and North Africa, has successfully
incubated and accelerated startups. The center has also trained more than 10,000
individuals through 200 workshops and training programs.
