SACGC, US firm PNP sign MoU to support startups in Kuwait
Kuwait:
The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC)
has signed a memorandum of understanding with Plug and Play (PNP), a leading US
venture capital firm based in California, to collaborate on developing
innovative solutions and services for startups in Kuwait. The MoU was signed on
Tuesday during a visit to PNP’s headquarters in Silicon Valley by a delegation
from SACGC, led by its General Manager Neda Al-Daihani.
The MoU outlines SACGC and PNP’s collaboration in various fields, including
organizing Hackathons in Kuwait. It will also help direct capital into
early-stage technology companies, particularly in areas such as digital
transformation, education, and energy.
Daihani told KUNA that the agreement provides Kuwaiti entrepreneurs with access
to international platforms and global networks. Praising PNP as a global leader
in startup acceleration, Daihani noted that this partnership will help Kuwaiti
innovators deepen their understanding of the US market and establish valuable
connections with key business partners and potential customers.
Founded in 2006, PNP connects entrepreneurs with investors worldwide, having
forged partnerships with over 550 corporations and helped accelerate the growth
of nearly 2,500 startups. Established in 2010 as part of an initiative by the
late Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, SACGC, which is affiliated with the Kuwait
Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), is dedicated to nurturing
talented and creative individuals in Kuwait through knowledge integration and
support for gifted individuals.
